Our Students in WRO 2020 Virtual International Compitions

After covid-19 pandemic repercussions on most of the international events for this year; WRO events this year were held virtually. Most participance, coaches ,parents and even organizers them selves had concerns about this huge changes in WRO normal procedures; would be there this spirit of international events while meeting different teams from different cultures, would judging be fair enough, would every team be responsible and respect the rules and wouldn't try to cheat; and so on.

On this blog we will  take a look on one of the bright sides:

Ideasgym students have participated in the virtual WRO 2020 using Virtual Robot toolkit which was held in conjunction with WRO Canada 2020X as a closing for WRO events for this year.

This virtual event gave a big chance to one of our students from upper Egypt to participate; specifically we are talking about  Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed from Qena; Ahmed has participated in Ideasgym preparation online course a month before the competition to learn more about programing using VRT & EV3 Mindstorm and was able to participate and compete in WRO international virtual competition. Ahmed ranked 90 out of more than 500 contestant in elementary beginners category with full score and only 2 seconds between him and the first place .

In normal conditions Ahmed wouldn't be able to take such an opportunity, as robotics courses still not that available in upper Egypt. Moreover, traveling to attend a competition means too much costs and preparation time.

Covid-19 has totally changed our normal life but we still can work and seize opportunities and take the advantage of being online to achieve our goal in conducting STEM education to those who deserve everywhere around Egypt.  

بعد تداعيات جائحة كورونا على معظم الفاعليات العالمية لهذا العام وبعد تحول فاعليات أوليمبياد الروبوت العالمية لهذا العام لنسخة إفتراضية ،أثار هذ التحول قلق وتساؤلا عديدة ومفهومة لدى المشاركين ومدربيهم وأولياء أمورهم وحتى المنظمين أنفسهم؛ هل ستوجد تلك الروح التى عهدناها في مثل تلك الفاعليات من تفاعل المشاركين من  مختلف الثقافات والبلاد، هل سيكون التحكيم عادلاً بما يكفى وما هي الضمانات لذلك، هل سيحترم كل المتنافسون  قواعد المسابقات ويتحملون مسؤليتهم فلن يلجأوا للخداع والتضليل من أجل تحقيق الفوز،والكثير من مثل تلك الأسئلة

شارك طلاب أيديازجيم فى المسابقة الدولية لأوليمباد الروبوت العالمية الافتراضية وهى إحدى الفاعليتين الممثلتين  لختام فاعليات أوليمبياد الروبوت العالمية لهذا العام بالتزامن مع الفاعلية الأخرى وهى 

 WRO Canada 2020x

 أعطت هذه المسابقة فرصة لأحد طلابنا من صعيد مصر فى المشاركة، تحديداً نتحدث عن الطالب أحمد محمد  عبده من قنا فقد تلقى التدريب التأهيلى للمسابقة المقدم من أيديازجيم عبر الإنترنت فى الشهر السابق للمسابقة لتعلم المزيد عن برمجة الروبوتات وكان قادراً على المنافسة وقد حقق المركز ال90 من بين أكثر من خمسمائة متسابق من مختلف أنحاء العالم لفئة المبتدئين بفارق ثانيتين فقط بينه وبين المركز الأول

ربما في الظروف الطبيعية لمثل هذه المسابقة لم يكن أحمد يستطيع المشاركة فكورسات الروبوتات ليست بهذا التوفر فى صعيد مصر والسفر لحضور مسابقة عالمية يكلف الكثير من المال والوقت للإعداد للسفر

نعم لقد أثرت تداعيات كوفيد-19على كل مناحي حياتنا ولكن علينا أن نكف عن البكاء و ننظر للجانب الجيد فلازال بإستطاعتنا العمل و إقتناص الفرص وإستغلال وجودنا على الإنترنت لتحقيق هدفنا فى نشر تعلم العلوم والتكنولوجيا  للمستحقين فى مختلف أنحاء مصر
